Crafting tradition, weaving community
Welcome to the Cornwall Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers! We are a group of enthusiastic craftspeople dedicated to keeping alive the traditional arts of hand spinning, weaving, and dyeing. Join us as we share our passion, skills, and creativity.
Our beginnings
The Cornwall Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers held its official Inaugural Meeting in March 1951, although members were meeting back in 1949 but, sadly, there is no paperwork to confirm this.
We are proud to confirm that Cornwall was one of the six Guilds that helped form the National Association as it stands today. Since then, members have been meeting to share their skills and knowledge in weaving, spinning and dyeing. We continue to meet and uphold these wonderful crafts whilst embracing new techniques, ideas and fibres.
The Cornwall Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers
The Cornwall Guild of Weaving, Spinning and Dyeing started with a shared love for textile arts. Based in Probus, United Kingdom, our guild is a vibrant community of enthusiasts dedicated to preserving and promoting these traditional crafts. Our approach is rooted in fostering creativity and sharing knowledge.
